Doublet Gown in red silk | page 1 2 |
The outfit consists of a underskirt, overskirt, doublet style bodice,undersleeves, oversleeves, ruff and hat. Worn over a farthingale, bumroll and chemise. Red silk was used to fashion this ensemble. I used the pictures above and the pattern below. The under skirt is a brocade forepart with matching undersleeves Hook and eyes were used to attach sleeves. The over skirt is cartridge pleated Black on black trim decorates the skirt and doublet. The doublet closes with hook and eyes with period buttons over for decoration Machine stitching was used to simulate blackwork embroidery. A ruff and matching cuff are also machine embroidered. |
