White silk dress

This is mt first attempt at Regency clothing. This dress was inspired by the white dress that Lizzy worn at the Netherfield Ball. I then added some other elements from other dresses. I wanted 3/4 sleeves which are more flattering on my arms. I made a double skirt. The bodice is lined with white cotton. The dress fastens with pearl buttons.

I used the principles found in Janet Arnold’s book on this period. I noticed that the regency bodices have the same cut as the earlier Elizabethan ones. I took the patterns I had from doing Elizabethan and  raised the waistline.
