A miniature of Elizabeth by Hilliard
I based my gown from elements found from different pictures of Elizabeth and other persons of the era.

All of the gowns have full sleeves and a partlet with blackwork or polychrome embroidery.  The sleeve caps are large and are "puff and slashed"

The portrait to the right shows the double row of embellishment down the front of the bodice and the front of the skirt. The satin guards are embroidered and sewn with  pearls and jewels
